Two Eaglets

The February photo from the Eagles and Eaglets calendar is of the two eaglets taken toward the end of the first week of May, staring out over the nest to the south no doubt waiting for the delivery of another meal. They grow so fast, and you can see how fast when you compare this image to the image in the last blog post (added at the bottom of this post).

Two weeks and a day had passed between the photos, and they’ve already gone from little gray furballs to sporting dark gray feathers, with a little gray tuft on the top of the head. It’s hard to believe, but by the time the chicks are 9 weeks old, they are fully grown, but will continue in the nest gaining strength for up to 10 to 12 weeks.
