Male Ruby-throated

Did not have many male ruby-throateds visit this year, but was able to capture one during his brief visit. As those who photograph these little beauties know, the right angle determines whether you get the iridescent red (somewhere close to straight on) or just a dull red/black (side shot as in image 3). What was different about this guy was that his throat was more orange then red, with some white splotches. So perhaps it was finishing up a molt, or maybe it was a juvenile in the process of maturing.
