Bird Grasshopper

Now for something a little different. One day a couple of months ago while out shooting, a grasshopper flew (yes, one of those flying grasshoppers) in from the east and landed a few feet away. It was blustery, wind from the south. It proceeded to jump up, flap its wings and then stay airborne about 6 to 8 feet off the ground, almost stationary against the south wind. Then it would lower itself back to the ground, and then repeat this several times. If I could fly, I guess I would do the same, especially if I were a grasshopper. So the challenge was on. I couldn’t lock in with the autofocus, so I went old school and tried to catch a frame manually focusing. Luckily, I was able to grab a couple in focus before it decided to find another spot to practice its aerobatics. I don’t know much about grasshoppers, but based on some info at insectidentification.org, looks to be a Bird Grasshopper. Properly named, no doubt. If anyone knows for sure what type it is, please let me know.
