Check out this bumblebee from last August as it was flying in for a sunflower. The pollen is sticking to the bumblebee everywhere, perhaps at capacity since you can see some of it falling off behind it. Fascinating little creatures they are.

While going through images after a session, there were a couple with a bumblebee's middle leg raised up while another bumblebee was doing a flyby of the same flower (well, what's left of the flower after a goldfinch had plucked all of the petals off!). Intrigued, a little research led me to bumblebee.org . . .

Is it any wonder why these wonderful creatures are called pollinators? Look at all of that pollen!

A bumblebee lifts off from a flower filled with a little more pollen after stopping and poking around for a bit. Fun fact: Bumblebees can collect pollen twice as fast as a honey bees.
