The sunset this past Sunday was epic, just beautiful. The same clouds that gave us the wonderful colors also hazily obscured the crescent moon and venus during the dusky hour, but it was still a beautiful sight. While capturing a few frames, some Canada Geese performed a honking flyover, and they were captured in motion.

Back in July there was the right atmospheric mix of smoke, dust and haze to that allowed for an unfiltered capture of our orange setting sun. Although ~ 93 million miles away, it appeared as though it was just over there, a beautiful sight . . .

Aside from the noise and the smoke, the grand fireworks (not the local neighborhood fireworks) are mesmerizing to this photographer because of the light and motion against a black sky, a great combination for some experimentation. Happy 4th of July!

Three years ago today we were blessed to be able to experience the total eclipse of the sun in Grand Teton National Park. We were in the heart of the path of totality, and those 2 minutes and 20 seconds were truly a magical moment. We could see totality hit the Grand Tetons before it finally reached us when and the cheers from all us echoed through the valley. Do what you can to catch the next one, April 8, 2024!
