Was tracking this Shorty across the late evening sky as it was gracefully working its way above the prairie when it abruptly went vertical to dive toward something it saw or heard below. Will miss these wonderful flying machines . . .

Love is in the air . . . and it won't be long before we have a clutch in the nest and hopefully, eaglets in April.

The 2021 nesting season has begun here at the local eagle's nest, and based upon recent activities (you know what I mean), we expect a clutch of eggs in the near future. Before we get immersed in 2021, just wanted to pay a little homage to our lone eaglet from the 2020 nesting season . . .

A Short-eared Owl gathers some speed toward the evening sun after diving for a vole.

It was the first time the sun had been out for days, and the temp was finally above 15 degrees, so this beautiful female Snowy Owl was happy to squint for a spell and soak up some rays; maybe next time she'll flash those beautiful yellow eyes . . .
