Ruddy Ducks

A raft of ruddy duck drakes and hens are doing what they do best during the daylight hours: sleeping. The male ruddy ducks are known for their bright blue bills, and fortunately one of them decided to wake up from its nap and at least let me get a side capture while the rest of them kept on bobbing up and down on the water and sleeping with their stiff tails up in the air. Ruddy ducks feed most actively at night, so no wonder they sleep all day; reminds me of when I was younger.
